Heber Springs Business and Professional Women’s Organization (BPW) Scholarships

2006 Heber Springs Business and Professional Women’s Organization (BPW) Scholarships are available to graduating seniors attending a public high school in Cleburne County. Four $400 scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievement, application process and interviews.

Application requirements:
  • Applicant must complete requirements to graduate from their respective high school in the spring of 2006 with a cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Applicant must have a minimum 4-year high school attendance rate of 90%.
  • Participation in activities that foster personal growth, work ethics and social skills; such as participation in clubs, organizations, sports, volunteer activities or jobs.

Application process:

  • Completion/submission of application forms including school transcript.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • 250 word essay titled My Career Goals Are …

Application deadlines:
March 24 - Written application, post-marked no later than this date, (including transcript, essay & letters of recommendation) submitted to:

April 4 - Interviews conducted at the Heber Springs office of Attorney Bryan Tilley, 407 West Searcy Street, Heber Springs, AR; beginning @ 5:30 p.m.

Applicants will be contacted by phone to schedule their time.

April 20 - Scholarship presentations/reception during BPW meeting; beginning @ 5:30 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

Scholarship recipients will be announced in the Sun Times newspaper. A certificate will be available prior to high school graduation. Checks will be written to the school of choice when the successful applicant provides fall registration information.

*Scholarship recipients who have not claimed their scholarship by December 31, 2006 will be deemed to have abandoned the award.
